Compute what matters.
Defer the rest.

Lazy Evaluation Ltd is the company behind Oliver Sturm's work — thirty-five years of software architecture, consulting, training, keynotes, conference talks and writing, run from a quiet corner of Scotland.

There's a small joke in the name, for those who catch it. In functional programming, lazy evaluation is a technique for efficiency: a value is computed at the exact moment it's needed, and never wasted on work that turns out not to matter. As a way of thinking about software, and about how a company spends its effort, it has served rather well.

Consulting

There are many companies around the world who are glad that Oliver found time to help them reach their goals.

We have limited capacities for consulting work. You know where to find us.
